By applying a strategic approach to the problems in our
community, our influence is far reaching and deep. The United
Way has an Impact Agenda that helps us to focus the efforts
of our community on our most critical problems. Our agenda
is three-fold:
Help youth make positive choices:
For many children
the years that span from early childhood to high school can
include life-altering problems that can put them on the wrong
path for the rest of their lives. We are helping children
and youth to have healthy beginnings, and to grow into successful
adults. United Way programs support:
- Child Assault Prevention Programs in the schools
- Career
Awareness Programs in the schools
- Substance Abuse Prevention
Programs in the schools
- and more…
Strengthen families:
Strong families are the cornerstone to good health. United
Way programs are:
- Providing a wide variety of support to the disabled
and elderly
- Delivering counseling for families
- Providing legal assistance
to needy families
- and more…
Provide a Safety Net of Services:
United Way is there to help people when they have problems
that they cannot solve alone. United
Way programs are:
- Providing food to those in need
- Sheltering victims of
domestic abuse
- Providing emergency services to those in
crisis
- and more…
